Rossendale
A district in Lancashire with borough status, Rossendale /ˈrɒsəndeɪl/ is centred on the River Irwell valley, holding several former mill towns in the industrial North West. Combines modest size urban development with rural villages, Rossendale is north of Bury, Bolton, Rochdale, and Manchester, east of Blackburn, south of Burnley, the more populated town, centred 15 miles (24 km) north of Manchester. Close to the Netherlands border, Rossendale is twinned with the German town of Bocholt.
